I was having coffee and saw this rose in the window, perfectly silhouetted against the outside world. I took more than a few photos and did a little editing to remove a few small distractions. It’s not a great photo but I think it has a cool look to it.
PhotoMoment: Meta-Selfie
I was out looking for photos and found one that was very meta, a selfie of me taking a photo. Why not?
PhotoMoment: Strange Musician
Always take your camera when you go for a walk. Yoh never know when you might find an interesting image waiting to be captured. A metal works shop near my apartment has lots of interesting metal sculptures, this one though grabbed my attention.
PhotoMoment: The Door
I went out looking for a “PhotoMoment” and when I saw this building I knew I found it. The texture in the wall, the colors and the overall look just screamed to me “great image.” I took several photos and these two won the day!
PhotoMoment: I Heart Frisco
This “I Heart Frisco” sign was standing by the Frisco Heritage Museum. It’s designed for tourists and citizens of Frisco to take their photo next to Frisco landmarks. I saw the sign and noticed the old grain silo in the distance. It made for a slightly icon image.
PhotoMoment: Red Datsun
PhotoMoment: Red Datsun
I was out for a walk when I came across this beautifully restored Datsun parked on the street here in Frisco Square. It gave me a chance to try taking photos of a car differently than I have in the past. The images turned out really well. I don’t know what year this car is, but I do know that Datsun ceased to exist as a car brand in 1986 when Nissan phased out the brand. If you look at the license plate you will notice this car traveled a long way to get to Frisco, Texas. While the plate itself is for Texas, the plate holder shows this car made its way from the Aloha state, Hawaii.
PhotoMoment: Mushrooms
PhotoMoment: Mushrooms
When I visited the Frisco Fresh Market I came across a vendor selling various mushrooms. While it sounds like quite the boring subject the photo turned out pretty well. This, I think, is one of my better images. Thoughts? -Kelly
PhotoMoment: “The Kick”
PhotoMoment: “The Kick”
It’s called “The Kick” and stands in front of the National Soccer Hall of Fame at Toyota Stadium here in Frisco, Texas. This cold-cast aluminum sculpture was inspired by the bicycle kick made famous by Brazilian soccer player Pelé. The sculptor was Jacob Burmood and the art consultant was Paul Dorrell. The 800 pound sculpture was placed in front of the Hall of Fame on October 4th, 2018. It’s a stunning work of art that you can’t help but admire as you walk or drive by on Main Street.
Checkout the Hall of Fame website for more information.
PhotoMoment: Fruit of the Day
Took this while at the Frisco Fresh Market. The color image was honestly boring, but edited into black & white the image takes on a new life. Or it may just be my preference for monochromatic images.
PhotoMoment: Ranch on a Hill
This is a beautiful ranch style house with a barn in Farmersville, Texas. I took the photo a few times with my little Sony RX100, ending up with 2 versions. One an unobstructed view of both the barn and house. The other a closer view but also slightly obscured by tall grass.
