More Photos Added

I've added more photos under the Family Archives section of the site. For now I am just pulling all photos of Mom, Dad and Brion; my eventual plan is to limit these photos to the more distant past. I'm still going through and dating photographs and creating various albums in iPhoto. I will add more photos hopefully over the next several days. Trying to get a bit more work done on this site and EternalMagic. You should be able to view the photos just fine regardless of the system you are using. The photos will show-up in a Flash slide show that should play in most browers, including Dad's.

Photo Montage Added - Through the Years

Through The Years

I've added a photo montage of Tracy and myself growing up. This video will be used at the wedding, but is available now for you to see. It isn't anything fancy, just whipped it up in iPhoto and added a little music. Took longer to encode that it did to create. The photos are basically in order of date, taking you from Tracy's birth all the way to our couple's shower last week. So enjoy!

Family Photo Archive

Several months ago while visiting my dad I came into possession of a couple of boxes of photos. Apparently Dad had found them and had sorted through them. He asked me if I wanted them. He said some of them were of divides family and asked if I would forward those to them. I agreed and brought the photos home with me. I thought I would find time to sort through them myself, but unfortunately I didn't; until now.

Being on vacation has allowed me a bit of free time and yesterday I began sorting through the photos myself. I also began scanning in the ones I liked or thought were important to hold on to and make available to other family members to see. The project isn't a small one. I have already scanned in nearly 80 photos and that isn't even the tip of the iceberg. I have sorted through most of the ones of David Edwin Spore and his side of the family and I am planning on boxing those up and sending to him in Maryland. The rest are of Dad's branch of the tree.

Tomorrow I plan on digging through the rest of the photos to get an idea of what is there and then begin scanning the best of them. Once they are scanned I make them available in a slide show on my KellsWorld.net website. I also plan on adding them to my SmugMug account so that any of the family can order prints if they like. It will also ensure they are safely backuped.

The photos range from the mundane to the very interesting. So far I have mostly been surprised by how out-of-focus many of the photos turned out to be. I'm really not sure why. Maybe the camera technology of the day didn't give many in focus shots. However, as the photos become newer they seem to get progressively better.

Keep an eye on the site as more photos should be added over the next week or so.

Photos Added to Photo Gallery

Please check out KellysWorld Gallery for some new photos. Many of them date back several months to Javier's graduation from highschool to Courtney's 13th birthday party; so we are talking Spring 2005. I also added more photos from Carlos and Deseriees wedding ceremony. Those photos were taken with a traditional camera and Tracy had the film developed and scanned. I have had them on my computer for months, but just hadn't uploaded them to the site.

I am looking through all of my photos targeting all the ones I want to upload. I will then go through all of those photos and find the best ones and create a few "Best Of" galleries.

All the while I will continue to upload new photos as they are taken.

New PhotoLand for KellysWorld

Excitment feels the room! The applause seemingly have no end. KellysWorld.net now has an improved way to view photos and you can even buy prints if you want them all in one place! The world just can't believe the increadible innovation that has just occured.

If true, the world needs to get a life!
So the world isn't going completely nuts. Dogs and cats aren't sleeping together, not for the whole night anyway. There is great innovation though at KellysWorld. Recently I subscribed to a service offered by Smugmug.com. What is Smugmug you ask, well simply put it is to photos what Blogger is to blogs. Simply a great and easy way to share photos. Instead of creating each album myself by hand, this system allows me to simply upload the photos and that's it. As I have time I can write explanations of what each photo is, should explanation be required.

So go check it out. You can find me at KellysWorld.smugmug.com.

If you like the site and think you might like to use it, then let me know. There is a referral program that lets you save $5 off your first year's fees. I subscribed to the power user program, but they have a level below that and a level above it. The prices are all quite reasonable. The professional, the level above my type, is only $100/year (which is what my hosting service costs); while the standard service is only $30/year. They will give you 7 days to try it for free, no matter what level you choose.

Yes, there are free ones out there but they are ad supported and have other uncessary pains involved; plus you don't have the level of custimazation. This is more of a permenant home for photos while most of the others are more temporary in nature; even if they never delete your photos.
