Fixed My Website Twitter Blues

It looks as though I have fixed the issues I was having on my website and posting automatically to Twitter that I’ve updated this website. I think I’ve also fixed the issue with the daily entry with all of my Tweets for that day. I had to uninstall all of the Twitter widgets for my website and then re-install the one I wanted. Even then it didn’t work right away; but then mysteriously it did!!! I had problems like that, I may never know what was wrong. I will kick myself too if I find out it really isn’t working. I love how works, and how easy it is to use… but when I have a problem it can be a bit of a pain to figure out what the heck went wrong.

Twitter Issues

Seems as though Twitter is making changes to their back end and it is impacting some of the Twitter solutions that I use. Primary the ones that allow me to cross post from Twitter to Facebook and those that allow my Tweets to appear daily on KellysWorld. I read that changes were in progress, but hadn’t heard they were already in place. It’s all that I can think of because solutions that were working, are currently not working. It’s a little annoying. Doesn’t seem to be much I can do about it at the moment, one of the issues with using lots of “free” services; it makes complaining very difficult.

New Features for KW 4.0

I’ve added some new features to KellysWorld 4.0; along with settling on a new theme for the time being. The changes I believe both put the fun in “functionality.” The first new feature is the Video of the Week. The first video is a commercial you just have to see to believe, babys getting their groove on while roller skatting. It’s creepy, but fun. Another new feature is a social bookmarking one that you will find at the bottom of ever post, including this one. I’ve included some of my favorites. Basically, it allows you to take a post and repost it through your favorite social site like FaceBook or Twitter. I’ve includd e-mail as well.

Want to subscribe to my blog feed, that’s the individual posts; all you have to do is enter your e-mail address into the box on the right under my welcome message. The feed is provided by FeedBurner, now powered by Google! (more…)

You might have noticed on the Kellysworld.net home page there is now a small grey box that has some personal message from me. That message is provided by Twitter, an interesting mixture of instant messaging, blogging and SMS. As other’s can explain this cool service better than I, please see below for the Twitter description as provided by one of my favorite web sites, Wikipedia:

“Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) via SMS, instant messaging, email, to the Twitter website, or an application such as Twitterrific. Twitter was founded in March 2006 by San Francisco start-up company Obvious Corp.

Updates are displayed on the user’s profile page and also instantly delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone is the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application. For SMS, currently three gateway numbers are available: short codes for the USA and Canada and a UK number for international use. Several third parties offer posting and receiving updates via email.

Due to Twitter’s success, a large number of sites imitating its concept have sprung up around the world, offering country-specific services (e.g. frazr) or combining the micro-blogging facilities with other ideas, such as filesharing(e.g. Pownce). In May, 2007, one source counted as many as 111 such “Twitter-lookalikes” internationally.”
