Could We: In Honor of Steve Job’s Life
Maybe in honor of Steve Job's life and his push for making better products and better technology; we can halt "trash talk" of Android, iOS, Mac, iPhone, Google, iPad, Microsoft and all the other battles along nearly religious arguments that we see so much of these days. Just a thought… Let's all just love our technology the way Steve Job's loved technology.
Need a GooglePlus Invite?
If you are interested in seeing what all the hubbub is about over at Google, I can offer some invites to GooglePlus. They come and go like the wind, but each existing member gets invites. I can add you to a list of folks wanting one and when invites become available I will send you one. When you do get in, don’t forget to add me to one of your “circles” and you have to try Hangouts. Up to 10 folks video chatting at a time. Pretty awesome!
What is GooglePlus? Well that’s a hard one to answer. I prefer to think of it as though Facebook and Twitter hooked up one night, and GooglePlus was the result. It has some of the features of Facebook and some of the features of Twitter. At the moment it’s not really competing with either; especially since it is in beta, but mostly because it’s also something different. The big question on my mind is simply, who is going to use it? Joined GooglePlusToday Podcast!
Today I was honored to be one of the first guests on the new, and very popular, podcast – GooglePlusToday (iTunes Link). I wasn’t part of the show for any particular reason, other than I just happened to answer a tweet from Dennis Freitas. He had some invites to GooglePlus and I asked if I could have one. Later I noticed that he was looking for anyone that might be interested in being a guest on his new show. I jumped at the chance.
Dennis is probably best known for his podcast Your Mac Show, as well as a few others shows. With the release of Google Plus Dennis saw an opportunity to have a new podcast and to get in on the ground floor. His speed and forethought have done him service as he has already shot to the top of the tech podcast charts on iTunes. So congrats to Dennis! (more…)
New Features for KW 4.0
I’ve added some new features to KellysWorld 4.0; along with settling on a new theme for the time being. The changes I believe both put the fun in “functionality.” The first new feature is the Video of the Week. The first video is a commercial you just have to see to believe, babys getting their groove on while roller skatting. It’s creepy, but fun. Another new feature is a social bookmarking one that you will find at the bottom of ever post, including this one. I’ve included some of my favorites. Basically, it allows you to take a post and repost it through your favorite social site like FaceBook or Twitter. I’ve includd e-mail as well.
