Fun
Tonight is All Hallow’s Eve. Don’t walk…
Tonight is All Hallow’s Eve. Don’t walk down any long dark hallways, don’t walk alone in a big empty field and to my teenage friends – don’t make out with your eyes closed. For heavens sake, if the soundtrack to your life starts getting all spooky – don’t lock yourself in a room with only one way in, that’s also the only way out!
Letter to Dogs & Cats
I did not write this letter. I received as an e-mail. One of the funniest things I’ve ever read. I posted this on my blog as well (blog.kellysworld.net) but for ease of laughter and sharing it’s all here.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE PETS, THIS IS A TRUE STORY.
FOR THOSE WHO DON’T, IT’S ALSO A TRUE STORY.
The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.
Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes on the floor with the paw prints are yours
and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate does not mean that it is suddenly your food, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the top of the stairs is not the object. Tripping me doesn’t help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king-sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space that you are taking up, is nothing but sarcasm. For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years – canine/feline attendance is not required. (more…)
Twit Brick House Studios – Live Today
I’ve followed TWiT (This Week In Tech) network for years. I was a huge fan of the Screensavers on TechTV. Since then many of the former TechTV alum have gone on to start their own business or join businesses started by other TechTV alum.
TWiT is probably the best known of these new media companies and was started by Leo Laporte, star of radio and TV. Several years ago he moved into the TWiT Cottage to better handle his growing business of video podcasts, or “netcasts” as he prefers to call them. Last year Leo and his team of “netcasters” and producers made the huge decision to take netcasting up a notch and move into a much bigger studio. Months of design and hard work later, TWiT Brick House Studios is about to go live.
Below is a video from Saturday filmed by Leo Laport as his team moves into the new studio. You can catch the first show from the new studio live at live.twit.tv. The first show to be taped will be their flagship show – This Week in Tech.
This video was filmed using Socialcam, I think I need to check it out!
Jumping Fish Batman!
Wow! Let me say it again, WOW!
Have you ever taken a relaxing boat ride down a winding river? Can you imagine the sweet serenity of such a trip as you listen to the sounds of the water sloshing against the sides of the boat? You could enjoy the cool wind as it blows through your hair. Watch the fish jump out of the water right into your boat. If that’s your idea of relaxation, I have just the river for you!
The family in this video was on an outing on a small river in Illinois, when suddenly they came across a large school of Asian Carp. Apparently this variety of carp are a bit “skittish” and when they get “skittish” they take to the air. These aren’t flying fish, don’t tell the family that was swatting them out of the sky that, they are jumping fish. I wish I could jump so well. (Video Follows)

Quick History of the Shuttle
This video, produced by the Telegraph, is an excellent quick history of the Space Shuttle, from the announcement of the program by Nixon to the announcement by Bush of the next phase of space travel and the end of the Shuttle Program.
It includes the great moments and the sad ones. If, like me, you have grown up with the Shuttle it might just bring a little heaviness to your heart. (more…)
